TCTP on Behavior Change Communication in Family Planning/Reproductive Health: The Indonesia Experience

The family planning program in Indonesia is considered a success. In the last three decades (year 1970 – 2000), almost 80 million births have been averted. Total Fertility Rate (TFR) decreased from 5.6 in early 70s to 2.34 in 2007. Contraceptive Prevalence Rate (CPR) has also increased from less than 10% of eligible couples in early 1970s to around 60.3% in 2007 - Indonesian Demographic Health Survey (IDHS) 2007.
